I've been with Interserver for a couple years. Since Centos7 End Of Life was June 30, 2024, I was going to install UBUNTU on this dedicated server. I purchased 3 dedicated servers back in 2022, but this was the only one that worked correctly. (I suggest you run HDPARM or FIO to check SSD times). I called support on a Sunday night. This eliminated the weekday morning and afternoon rush, and I got right in. I was told that support would do the Install and then the cPanel install, and it should only take an hour. All I had to do was to create a ticket, and they'd start on it right away. I gave them a detailed numbered list of of what I wanted done, and they screwed up every item! I told them I needed the PTR Record set to a certain HOSTNAME. They set it to an old HOSTNAME I had 2 years ago. Now the IP is locked to this older HOSTNAME, and the server's SSL Certificate is also locked to this outdated server PTR, so all the domains see this server as an imposter, and warns all traffic to the server. A quick way out of this mess would be to assign me a new block of IP addresses. I've spent hours trying to delete "A" records and DNS Zones associated with the old name, only to find that one or more of their techs went back in and changed everything back to the old name. Now I loaded HOST ACCESS with my IPs just to keep their techs out!!!. Hackers are bad enough, but this is a similar problem that I experienced with this company a few years back. Did I mention they set the server up with the WRONG PASSWORD, then put in the ticket that they reset it again? It was only after I called the support line and requested that he try to log into the server, that the password was finally corrected. The only downtime I've had with their servers was when their support techs got involved. It seems to me that they made things worse! It is now after midnight on the 3rd day of a job that was supposed to take an hour! Btw.... Did I mention the tech who was supposed to install UBUNTU told me that UBUNTU 22.04 will NOT work with cPanel?? This is an insult, since I already have other servers running this configuration. I sent him a link to cPanel Docs.Interserver needs a fresh supply of knowledgeable techs, because some of one's there just can't make it in the real world. I would not recommend Interserver to anyone.
