My domain name was bought for me as a birthday gift from Supanames in 2004 and my girlfriend created a website for me, purely for the purpose of publishing my fishing articles for my own amusement and non-commercial in every way. Support was great, getting personal emails from one of only a small number of people who ran the company. Then they sold out to 123-Reg and everything has been going downhill from there on. Their interface looks flashy, but in reality is cumbersome and almost unfathomable. It is made by geeks for geeks, and woe betide anybody who doesn't have a degree in website publishing. So not great as far as customer service is concerned, but at least affordable for a little-used hobby. Then the bombshell: 123-Reg seems to have been acquired by GoDaddy, which has issued a diktat to fleece their customers by squeezing every last penny out of them. At renewal, my annual cost for my puny little website and an email address has massively increased from £26.50 to £143.86 per annum at a stroke (I excluded the domain name renewal). This must surely set some kind of new record. They try to hide their prices to some extent by only showing them without the added VAT.Edited after reply:I've read the reply but it seems massively complicated and I don't understand it. They provided a link which was supposed to take me to the Control Panel, but it simply sent me through to my basic account details and I couldn't find what their instructions were indicating. I can no longer find my Control Panel anywhere. Their 'Help' has always been so geeky, that if you could understand it, you would be so well versed in computer terminology that you wouldn't need their help in the first place.Step 1 of 3From the Hardware option in the main menu bar, select Server Overview from the drop-down menu.(Can't find that anywhere)Step 2 of 3This will take you to an overview of your server, scroll down to the Control Panel section and click on the URL. This will take you through to the server Control Panel login page.(Totally lost now)
