DigiCert's rating Trusted Provider

We rate features of services on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being the lowest rating and 5 being the highest rating. We also take into account the opinions of other users when rating features. We read user reviews and feedback to get a sense of how other people are using the features and what they think of them.

Generally dependable with mostly positive trust signals. Clear policies, stable performance, and support that usually resolves common issues.

Features
3.6 /5 Good

DigiCert generally offers a solid set of features for most users. Basics like SSL, email, a control panel (e.g., cPanel), and backups are usually included. Some “advanced” items—like staging, stronger backups, or extra security—may require higher plans or paid upgrades, but overall you get a practical, modern hosting package.

Reliability
3.4 /5 Mostly credible

DigiCert is generally reliable for most websites. It has several years of proven operation, a real business presence, and mostly positive customer trust signals. Issues appear occasionally, but they are not repeated in a way that suggests a serious ongoing problem. It is a safe choice for small to medium projects.

User Experience
3.4 /5 Good

DigiCert is generally easy to use. The control panel is familiar and stable, and key features are easy to find. There may be a few confusing parts (some settings hidden, too many upgrade prompts), but normal users can still complete most tasks with basic tutorials and support help.

Support
3.5 /5 Good

DigiCert generally provides reliable support. It offers multiple channels (usually chat + tickets), reasonable response times, and staff who can solve common problems. Complex cases may take longer or be escalated, but overall support is consistent and dependable for most users.

Pricing
3.8 /5 Affordable

DigiCert is generally good value. Intro discounts are attractive, and the renewal price is still acceptable for the features you get. Some extras may cost more (premium backups, advanced security), but pricing is mostly transparent and competitive for the target market.

Promotions
3.6 /5 Good discount

DigiCert usually runs useful promotions. Coupons or sale prices are easy to find and apply, and the rules are mostly clear. Some offers require longer billing terms or apply only to first-time customers, but overall the savings are meaningful and checkout works smoothly.

Other Factors
3.4 /5 Good

We give DigiCert a 4 when policies are mostly clear and fair, with only minor limitations. Billing rules, renewals, and refund exclusions are stated, and operational communication is acceptable. There may be some upsell language or strict clauses, but overall terms feel reasonable and consistent.

Bait-and-switch pricing. At our first annual renewal, our EV certificate/keylocker price increased from $800/year to $6800 a year because they now charge per signature.

Been a long-time customer of DigiCert. Seven years ago DigiCert used to be a great company with great support, but over the past few years the prices have been going up while the customer experience has been getting worse with each year. The final drop for us was them wasting our time and blatantly lying to us, so we decided it's obviously not a company to work with anymore.

Wow...Digicert has introduced a new payment model for ssl certificates and now nothing is working...one cannot buy a certificate and when one proceeds with the payment, the payment frozes money on the account. That's tragic, when one cannot buy a product for 3 days straight - is this the speed I will be getting once I have an issue with their SSL? I would loose all my clients this way. I have reached out multiple times to their tech teams and sales teams - no discount, no solution, nada

They sold me an ssl certificate with less features than what advertised. After contacting them I waited months for an answer and no solution has been found. I feel scammed by them. I will never use their certificates again, there are several alternatives, even free ones.

Its been two months now and they are neither issuing the certificate nor refunding the money. Anyone who even think of buying something from them should consider the 1 star reviews of them (I was stupid to not do a basic search on trustpilot). A few hundred dollars lost to them, i wish you guys bu** in h*** scammers

They tried to upsell to something our client didn't need, and then we went through a bunch of emails that were completely unnecessary rather than just letting us make the purchase. We'll be going elsewhere - they're a waste of time.
